History: Cañon del Sumidero is located km south of Tuxla Gutierrez in Chiapas. Tuxla Gutierrez is the capital of Chiapas. The canyon has 1000 meters of height above the water in the highest part and 200 meters of depth.

You can see the canyon sailing through it in the Grijalva River. The Grijalva River crosses the states of Tabasco and Chiapas and ends in the Golfo de Mexico (Golf of Mexico). The canyon starts in Chiapa de Corzo and ends in the hydroelectric hover of Chicoasén. See more...
