Bonampak

History

Bonampak was constructed in the Early Period (A. D.580 to 800) this city is not as big as other Mayan cities but is conserves serveral murals which ilustrate the way Mayas lived. The most important thing to see are this paintings because they give you the idea of how were all Mayan ruins painted and how they lived. Remmember that all the ruins such as Chichen Itza, Palenque, Yaxchilan were all painted and now you can only see them white, because the painting has vanished. Transportation: You have to get to Palenque. If you are in Mexico City try leaving from the Toluca Airport is very close to the city and the airplane tickets are extremly cheap. Volaris or Interjet would be your best choice for an airline. See more...
