They left to Chakamputun in the year 692 and returned in 948. In the year 1007 they formed an alliance with Uxmal and Mayapan (capital of the Mayan Confederation). The Ruins

The Castle Chichen-itza In this building we can find a relation of the cult to the sun of the Mayas with the solar cycle. We can infer this for a number of coincidences presented in the castle. The Mayan-Tolteca cycle had 52 years. This years had 365 days. A year had 18 months (Uinales) of 20 days (Kines) and 5 more days which were considered as (Kazil-Kin) all together were named Uayeb. The Pyramid in which "The castle" is located at the top, has 9 plataforms with their faces interrupted by one stairway that has access to the center of the edification forming 18 bodies equal number to the months of the Mayan year. Each one of the 8 first plataforms is ornamented with 3 flat tables and the last one has 2 of this tables forming 52 in all the pyramids equal number of the years of the mayan-tolteca cycle. Each one of the 4 stairways has 91 stairs. See more...
