Tulum

This city was named in the past as Zama and the actual Tulum refers to the wall that rounded the pyramid. This city had a very big defense against Mayan enemies. For it's numerous paintings and other artworks found in the buildings of the city, its considered that Tulum was an important center to the cult of the "Descendent God".

Even some inscriptions found that date of the year 564, the biggest part of the buildings that we can appreciate today, were constructed in the Post-Classic period of the Mayan civilitation between the years 1200 and 1450.
